Binita Walia

Binita specialises in creating large scale architectural glass for public and private commissions.

‘The Space inBetween’ name is derived from the placement of the window ‘in between’ the inside and the outside of a building. Inspiration can be found in the physical characteristics, historical heritage, social context and ambience of a site. Via drawing, photography and digital manipulation Binita explores the constantly fascinating, sensory and dynamic relationship between glass and light. Working into, onto and through the surface she creates unique and stunning glass works.

Binita has always been inspired by the everyday, incidental light shows that take place in the reflected surfaces that surround us. She realised she could turn this fascination into a career whilst she was still a student at the Royal College of Art in London and has now been creating work to commission for over 10 years.

Binita is an experienced, highly professional project manager with a successful track record and a reputation for delivering on time and to budget. A good communicator, with a practical, no nonsense approach means she is equally suited to working with design teams, developers, PFI and the public and private sectors.
